What Can You Expect at Resolve?
Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time, or it’s just your first time at Resolve, it’s normal to have some questions. Find answers to our most commonly asked questions:

Initially, we’re going to talk about what brought you to Resolve, how you would like your life to look, and a path to get there. We’ll also review your personal history and family background.
Therapy can sometimes be emotionally heavy and difficult, but it can also be light-hearted and fun. It can be a process of discovery with a learning component to it, as you discover what it takes to move forward or change. In-between appointments you may get individual tasks to complete on your own to reinforce and practice what you’ve learned.

I believe that we are all “works in progress” and that people are experts in their own experience. I’m committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space so that you can feel free and curious to explore your emotions, thoughts and behaviors, try new things and gain new insights and perspectives. It is important to have trust and openness for the process to work.

Frequency of appointments is very individualized and based on several factors, including desire, availability, and need. It is most effective to start with weekly appointments to build trust, establish our goals, and create momentum. Once you’ve reached some relief and groundedness in your life we can move to every other week or less. Please feel free to bring up frequency at any time so that you’re getting what you need.

On average, sessions last an hour (we’ll start wrapping up at around 50 minutes). In some instances we may agree to do 30 or 45-minute sessions.

This answer will be different for everyone. Counseling can be as short as just a few sessions or can span over a number of years. It is a collaborative and dynamic process that begins with the clarification of goals you would like to address. I offer a personalized approach that is tailored to meet individual needs and goals. Through a combination of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and mind-body techniques, I help you steadily build resilience. If you have questions or concerns about the length of therapy, feel free to bring them up.

I do not take insurance, but I can provide a superbill if you wish to file claims for possible reimbursement from your insurance. Click here for more information.

Effective January 1, 2022 undersection 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, a ruling went into effect called "The No Surprises Act" which requires practitioners to provide a "Good Faith Estimate" about out-of-network care.
At Resolve, we strive to be transparent regarding the cost of therapy sessions and the therapist and client can collaborate together on length of treatment and overall care.

You’ll need a computer, laptop, tablet, or your mobile device (iOS or Android) equipped with a microphone and camera to attend your virtual sessions. You will also need to be set-up in a quiet, private place, free from distractions. Contact us for more information or assistance.
